Alossi Renewal Spa Owner, Dena McDonald talks with WRAL’s Ken Smith about the Kindness Campaign.
Nothing makes me happier than when a client I’m working with is invited to tell their story on television as what happened with my client, Alossi Renewal Spa in Garner.
Recently, during the month of February 2020, Alossi engaged in a “Kindness Campaign” that incorporated three (3) different methods consumers and community members could contribute to the local nonprofit, Note in the Pocket. I assisted them with the creation of and public relations for the campaign leading to a television appearance on WRAL / FOX 50.
The campaign itself was extremely successful on both the promotional side for Alossi as well as for the nonprofit, Note in the Pocket, which received significant publicity and contributions thanks to the community members that took part in the campaign. This also makes me happy! Whenever I can serve a client AND the community at the same time, I know I’ve done more than good.
Congrats to Alossi Renewal Spa on the recognition and the success of this program!

In November of 2019, my position at Coastal Credit Union was eliminated due to restructuring. It happens! And business goes on.
I have decided to take this time now to help small business owners and nonprofits with their marketing strategies – the creation of whole strategies or small campaigns – as well as to open myself up to speaking engagements. Clearly, in the time we are in right now all of this will be done virtually.
Thanks to platforms like Zoom and Skype as well as smartphone technology (FaceTime), I am able to connect with existing and new clients in many ways.
If you are interested in learning more about what services I provide and how I can best help you, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Of course, I invite you to review the Pages of my website to gain some additional insight as well.
In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy. We will all be back to normal, albeit a new normal, in the coming months.
I look forward to hearing from you!

A new chapter in my professional career begins on Monday as Coastal Federal Credit Union‘s new Public Relations / Communications Specialist…and I could not be more excited!
First, let me say this change came about not because I was actively seeking change. Rather, it was an opportunity that literally came across my computer screen that I felt I needed to explore. Most who know me personally know that I am a BIG believer in God’s plan for my life and when he opens the doors to new opportunities, you’ve gotta just take that step!
I have enjoyed working with the Fonville Morisey family for the last four years and I believe I took the company (and our agents) to a new level of appreciation for what the social/digital media space can do for them. I will miss my Fonville Morisey family greatly… but not too greatly – I’ll be working in the same building!
My new position at Coastal will allow me to continue engaging in the social/digital space within a very collaborative environment between all departments. As a team, we’ll be able to synergistic-ally tell Coastal’s story to and for its Members, the public in general and via our contacts in traditional media. I am looking forward to being a part of this extreme “dream team” effort!
When I look back at this career in digital media and how it started with a very cool gig at WNCN NBC 17 to where it’s brought me today all I see is growth – growth in the digital space, most definitely, but also growth in my skills and expertise. I’m EXCITED to continue that growth process…all of it…at Coastal Federal Credit Union.
I’m thinking a grad degree in digital communications might be next. I’m thinking. Don’t quote me on it. 😉
